Holistic Counselling

At Q with Suzie Q, we offer a supportive and holistic approach to counselling, designed to meet you where you are right now.

You may be seeking support for a current life challenge, working through emotional or behavioural patterns, navigating stress or change, or simply wanting a safe space to talk and reflect. You may also be interested in personal growth, self-awareness, or clearing a “stumbling block” that feels difficult to move past on your own.

Whatever brings you here, our focus is on providing a calm, respectful, and non-judgemental space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered.

An initial conversation allows us both to explore whether this approach feels right for you, and whether we are comfortable and confident moving forward together.

Counselling & Holistic Support Modalities

Holistic Counselling, if your are not familiar with this it is a therapy approach that treats the “whole person,” focusing on the interconnectedness of your mind, body, emotions, spirit, and social life, rather than just specific symptoms or problems. It goes beyond traditional talk therapy to explore underlying causes, incorporating lifestyle, spiritual beliefs, physical health, and personal experiences to help you achieve overall well-being and self-understanding, empowering you to find your own path to healing.

Key Aspects of Holistic Counseling:

  • Mind-Body-Spirit Connection:

Views mental health issues as stemming from imbalances across all these areas.

  • Whole-Person Focus:

Considers your unique culture, background, relationships, and life experiences.

  • Integrative Techniques:

May use mindfulness, meditation, yoga, nutritional guidance, and other body-focused practices alongside traditional therapy.

  • Empowerment:

Aims to help you discover inner strength and wisdom, rather than just “fixing” you.

  • Exploration of Underlying Causes:

Looks for root issues that contribute to current struggles, addressing deeper imbalances.

What to Expect in a Session:

  • A counselor acts as a guide, helping you explore thoughts, feelings, and physical sensations.
  • Discussions may cover your physical health (sleep, diet), spiritual beliefs, social connections, and current life challenges.
  • You might learn strategies to practice at home, like mindfulness exercises, to support your progress.

Who Benefits:

  • Individuals who feel misunderstood in conventional therapy settings.
  • People who are spiritually inclined or highly intuitive.
